Free Agency Period:

The free agency period for the Universe League will start on October 17th at 12:01 AM ET and last until October 23th at 6:00 PM ET.

Free Agency Bidding period will be as follows:
Periods:

Stale bid is 2 days from last bid cast on a player.

2)
Second bidding period: 10/20 until 10/22 at 6:00 PM
Stale bid is 1 days from last bid cast on a player.

Any bids made after Period 2 ends will have a 10 hour Stale time from the last bid made.

Bids must be a minimum of 1 and in minimum increments of .5.  You may start a bid at what you feel a player should be bid at as long as it  is equal to or greater  then 1.

See the rules for penalties for over bidding and restrictions on releasing players in free agency and in the Rookie/Free Agent draft

Bids should be posted like this:
Position and Player   / Bid amount / Team making the bid
Examples:  Joe Smith F / 7 FD's  / Executioners
                   Steve Smith G / 5 FD's / Executioners

Once a player or team has been bid on, any further bids on that player or team should be done on the same thread. If you want to bid on a posted player or team, click on the bid and post a reply to the post.  Each post has the time and date listed. Every time a bid is made the time starts over again just like a new bid. Any Restricted Free Agents not bid on during the free agent period will become a unrestricted free agent and will be available for the FA/Rookie Draft. We will have as many Rounds as needed to fill all rosters.

The draft order reflects the results from the 2014-15 season.  The rookie/free agent draft will take place in our live draft room or by e-mail depending on the league preference. The Draft date will be set after the free agency period has started for the new season. We will have as many rounds as needed to fill each roster.  Some teams may not draft if they have already filled their roster in free agency.  (There will be no trading or cuts allowed in the draft) Once a teams roster is full, they will be done for the draft and will not be allowed pick again.

After the 2015 Rookie/Free Agent draft has been completed, the rosters will be locked until the week prior to the start of the season. Trading will then open that week as well per our league rules.

Trading will start one week prior to the start of the season when the leagues reopen for the 2015-1season.

A reminder on what can be traded:
Active roster players, FD's, Future Draft picks only if you are paid in full for that season.
(You cannot trade the rights to retain a player, only the previous owner can retain a player)

Trading of Future Draft Picks (You will only be allowed to trade a future draft pick if you are paid in full for that season.  If you are not paid in full for that season, please do not submit the trade as it will not be sent out for a vote)  This will be strictly enforced so if you want to trade future draft picks, you should pay for your future years prior to submitting that kind of trade

Trading Submits:

All trade requests must be E-mailed to the Commissioner.  You must include your team name, player (s) being traded, Salaries of the players in the trade, team name that you are trading with, and the player (s) being acquired with their salaries.  Please include the salary of the players in the trade when submitting a trade or it will be sent back to you to resubmit. Trades must be submitted by both teams before the trade deadline each week.  Rosters must be complete at all times and minimum positions requirements must be maintained. Once a trade is sent out for a vote by the commissioner, the trade is considered official and cannot be taken off the trade board until voted on.  The vote will determine the approval or disapproval. The salary of your team must never exceed the salary cap of 46 FD's.  Weekly trading is Tuesday at 9:00 AM EST through Thursday at 9:00 PM EST Each week during weeks 1 through 14. The season trade deadline is the Thursday prior to week 15.

Any player released in the 2nd period of free agency cannot be resigned by the team dropping the player until after the draft. This will prevent owner from dumping prime players and resigning them at low prices. This will also be the case in the draft.  A player cut in the draft cannot be resigned by the team who drops them unless they add him in free agency when the season starts.

POSITION ELIGIBILITY:
Position Eligibility will be as follows: It will be what the NBA.com site references players at.  (We are not a part of the NBA and are not affiliated with them in any way. This link is used as they are a the best reference for basketball information.) We will only be using this site this year to define a players position.  Teams will need to confirm players positions at the completion of the Rookie/free agent draft. You must lock in your player to a position. Once locked they are locked in for the season at the position unless dropped to free agency.

Special note 1: A team may lock in the players position at the end of the season as long as they qualify for that position at that time. This will ensure that if the position changes over the summer, the position is locked. When locking a player in, the player must be eligible per the NBA.com site.  Team can wait to lock their players in until the week prior to the season, but again when a player is locked in, they must be eligible at that position.

Special note 2:  A player added in transaction during the season from the free agent pool can be named to any position that they are eligible for.  This goes for any dropped players.
Example: if Player A was dropped from one our league teams, they can be picked up and named to a position eligible by NBA.com at the time of the add.  (some players may be listed in the program wrong and it is up to you to reference NBA.com prior to your add.  A player listed as C in the program may only be available as a F and will be locked in as such when the add is posted to salary page).

Special note 3:  Any player traded to another team will retain the locked position that they were assigned to for that season. As per above, once a player is locked, they are locked for the season unless cut and dropped becoming a free agent.
